About

A Toronto sign company built around storefronts

Signbox is a Toronto sign company founded in 2021. We design, produce and install custom storefront and commercial signage across the city.

Who we are

Signbox started in Toronto in 2021 as a sign company for storefronts: the shops, restaurants and commercial spaces that need a name on the building people can read from the sidewalk and from across the road.

The work still centres on that. Storefront signs, illuminated signs, blade signs andwindow graphics for the building; vehicle graphics for the work trucks and vans that carry the same business on the road. One company handles the project from planning and design through production and installation.

A sign is part of how a shop is found

A sign is how a shop is found and remembered. We treat it as part of the customer experience, not only as advertising: it is the first thing a person reads before deciding to walk in, and the thing they picture when they think of the place later.

That is why every job is planned around three things at once:

Get those three right and the sign does its job without anyone noticing the effort. Miss one and the shop is harder to find than it should be.

How the work gets made

Signbox handles planning, design, production and installation. Those are the four stages of every project, and one company is accountable for all of them — from the first photo of the storefront to the finished sign on the building.

Planning

Every job starts with the site and the brand: what is on the building now, what the name needs to say, and how the shop is seen from the street. Photos of the storefront are usually where this begins.

Design

The sign is designed for the building and the brand: the letters, the layout and where it sits on the face. Vector artwork helps, but finished drawings are not required to start.

Production

Once the design is settled, the sign is produced to match it — the storefront sign, lit sign, blade, window graphics or vehicle lettering the project calls for.

Installation

The finished sign is installed on the building, the glass or the vehicle so that it reads the way it was planned.

What we make

Built for Toronto storefronts

Signbox designs, produces and installs commercial signage across Toronto — all of the city, not one district. Toronto is the focus; we don’t advertise other cities as service areas.

Working in one city matters for a storefront sign. Toronto’s main streets put shops side by side and close to the sidewalk, with streetcars, trees, canopies and neighbouring signs all competing for the same glance. A sign planned for how a Toronto street is actually read — not for how the logo looks on a phone — is the difference between a shop that is found and one that is walked past.

The gallery shows finished Signbox work: storefront fascias, blade signs, lit signs, window vinyl and lettered work vehicles.
